This Year's Love

It all started looking very familiar all of a sudden, but then a relationship trade fest with a group of hip and slightly interconnecteds is always a crowd favorite (and a great date movie).
This one is beautifully shot in north London’s Camden town, the colorful and artsy part of the city. The characters are believable: Danny the tattoo artist (who gets things going with a non honeymoon wedding to Hannah), Hannah a dress designer (who slept with Danny’s best man right after their wedding), Mary the talented and funny singer-songwriter (though a bit homely looking), Sophie the beautiful single mom who is slumming it, Cameron the non bathing artist (and pseudo Don Juan of the classifieds) and Liam the inexperienced comic book collector. They’re all quite sympathetic though very different and all looking for love in all the places…
The story is nicely put together and really gives you a good understanding of how you need to have chemistry on more than just the physical level to make a relationship work (though the physical aspects are usually what gets you together in the beginning) and in the end the music stops, the contestants jump into the chairs, somebody wins and somebody loses!
