Bandits Directed by Katja von Garnier Viewed at the San Francisco International Film Festival Somewhere in the distance rock n' roll is coming- a gust here, a gust there, with meaning. Winding through concrete corridors, to a room, to a band. In the prison chapel and the band is rough, is tough, and is all woman! The music is strong like Republika or Garbage with a tinkle of Sex Pistol. A lot of music video cut into this film of band on the run- jailbreak! And as they run, a local record producer moves to capitalize on the notoriety and power of the tunes. Music combines with live news footage of the escaping renegades and then starts the idol-maker machinery. Giant posters all over the city and the "Bandits" sound is everywhere. Watching these four women open up to each other gives a realistic sense of chemistry between these strong personalities- the bonding. The crowds love them while police seem unwilling to let them escape to South America. PS: This soundtrack is currently climbing the charts in Germany at this moment! Filmography Katja von Garnier (b.
